ALARM SYSTEMS –FAQ
What is better - a hard wired or a wireless alarm?
Generally, we suggest a hard wired burglar alarm system over a wireless system. They are usually cheaper, more reliable and more secure. However in some cases a wireless alarm is appropriate where wiring maybe time consuming and complex or if you want to protect out buildings.
How does the monitored alarm work?
A monitored alarm connects to a monitoring centre that is manned 24 hours a day 365 days a year, via your telephone line. If the alarm is triggered it will send a signal to the centre and the owner, a keyholder or the police can be informed.
What happens to my alarm monitoring if my phone line is cut?
If your phone line is cut a signal cannot be sent. However, for extra security a dual signalling method can be implemented .
Can I have a burglar alarm that is not monitored?
Yes. You can install a bell only alarm which emits a loud noise to deter intruders or alert your neighbours. Your burglar alarm can be configured to send voice messages to your mobile phone.
Would I be set my burglar alarm at night?
Yes, of course. Your alarm can be configured for night setting. Which means at night, you are free to move around at certain areas of the house such as upstairs, leaving the ground floor covered by the alarm.
How long will it take to install my alarm?
It takes around a day to install a standard intruder alarm system.
Will the burglar alarm work with my pet?
Yes. With a professional installation, the burglar alarm can be configured to ignore pets.
Would my wireless internet connection interfere with the wireless alarm?
NO. Your wireless burglar alarm will utilize a dedicated 868 MHz narrow band radio channel which is exclusive for the security industry and as such unlikely to receive interference from your wireless internet connection.
Do you offer any guarantee on the alarm system?
Yes, we provide 18 months minimum guarantee on our alarm installations.
